Last night as I had no sleep, just tossed and turned all night. The reason for this, not stress, no pain, not lack of exercise...I was certainly tired the reason was because I ate junk before I went to bed. This is the number one habit that I need to break. I have to pack my breakfast and lunch everyday before I go to work and I exercise during my lunch hour. When I get home I cook a healthy dinner but then ruin a days hard work by mindlessly eating chips, microwave popcorn and lounging in front of the TV.
My solution to this is simple. I'm not actualy hungry for chips I just eat them because I'm bored and there's nothing else to do. To curb the mindless eating after 7pm I'm going to start reading at night as opposed to watching TV (unless hockey's on) and keeping myself busy with chores that I would usually put off until the weekend.
Hopefully this will cure my light insomnia and help me tip the scale again. I think this one habit is what's keeping me at a plateau; eating approx. 800 calories before bed and not burning it off.

Weight Loss Competition Update
I felt great after the first weigh-in of our office weight loss competition I was in the lead having lost 4 pounds and 3% of my body fat; but my joy was short lived. It turns out that the scale we were using was faulty and as a result we've postponed the competition and are now doing weigh-ins Feb.4th

Weight Loss Competition
Like many of you out there I pigged out over the holidays. I ate and drank as much as I wanted, the last thing I wanted to do on my holiday with my family was count calories. Surprisingly I snuck in quite a bit of outdoor activity without realizing it, but inevitably I gained weight.
On my first week back at the office a co-worker of mine organized a weight loss challenge which he called "The Biggest Winner" everyone who wanted to participate had to give $20 to the pot and had to be weighed in and have a body fat analysis. At the end of a 2 month period the person who loses the largest percentage of body fat is the winner; and winner takes all. I want to be that winner! Anyone out there who would like to give me some tips on healthy weight loss please comment. I'm 5'9" 156 pounds and my body fat is 21%. Any advice would be appreciated. Our weigh ins are every two weeks so I'll post my results accordingly.
